The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) released a statement Monday afternoon in which they failed to address the authenticity of leaked documents purported to be part of the manifesto written by Audrey Elizabeth Hale, but instead claimed, “The photographs are not MNPD crime scene images.”
In the statement, MNPD said:
The MNPD is in communication with the Metropolitan Department of Law as an investigation, begun this morning, continues into the dissemination of three photographs of writings during an on-line discussion about Covenant School. The photographs are not MNPD crime scene images.
The police department has been in contact with a representative of Covenant families. Police department counselors are available to assist them in coping with the emotional trauma caused by the dissemination.
Hale, who reportedly identified as a transgender male, fatally shot six people at The Covenant School on March 27, 2023. She was subsequently killed moments later by responding MNPD officers.
MNPD did not confirm or deny the authenticity of the images in the statement, but acknowledged the department “is in communication” with the Metro Legal about the ongoing investigation “into the dissemination of three photographs of writings” shown by conservative comedian and pundit Steven Crowder on Monday morning. The department confirmed the “photographs are not MNPD crime scene images.”
A spokesman for the department originally told The Tennessee Star it had “no idea” what the document was, though the same person later told The Star that it was investigating how the images were released. The spokesman did not clearly state whether the documents depicted in the photos are authentic.
Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell has since called for an investigation into how the photos were obtained and disseminated.
Multiple members of the Tennessee General Assembly confirmed the authenticity of the document to The Star, which was among the first of a growing list of media outlets to independently verify the writings are part of Hale’s manifesto. Other media outlets to confirm its authenticity include SuperTalk 99.7 WTN, News Channel 5, and WZTV.
An email from The Star to MNPD Public Affairs Director Don Aaron, which sought an explanation for why MNPD has yet to confirm or deny the authenticity of the document, was not answered by press time.
MNPD also indicated it is in touch with the families of Covenant school students, and is offering counseling to those who request it.
Star News Digital Media Inc., the parent company of The Star, filed two lawsuits to compel both the MNPD and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to release the manifesto. Both lawsuits remain active.
Calls from media outlets to release the manifesto have been buoyed by Representative John Rose (R-TN-06), who sent a letter requesting its release more than 200 days ago. Rose said the FBI’s eventual response indicated a “lack of cooperation” with elected officials that may leave schools vulnerable to future school shootings.

They have moved everything unpleasant about Nashville to the suburbs, except for Belle Meade & Forrest Hills. Even Green Hills area is not a safe place to live & do business anymore.
I tell everyone I can, who plan to relocate from NY. Chicago, San Fran, Portland, places that were once beautiful that have been destroyed by greed, illegal immigration, & paid anarchists, Marxist groups that Hate America, are now in high places in government, K-12 education, Higher Education, even Vanderbilt Medical Teaching Hospital. The Woke Vanderbilt Board has destroyed the trust of the people who used to take such pride in the “teaching hospital”. Today, I wouldn’t let them near my pets, much less my children. A good benevolent Nashville native donated the money to create a State of the art Monroe Children’s Hospital, which the woke Board allowed such inhumane “experiments” on children which are comparable to Dr Mengele in Germany. It’s called Eugenics, bc they basically sterilize kids & turn them into lifetime profitable patients. Such examples of destroying trusted institutions is a sign of The Fall of Civilization. Like the Roman Empire, when a Society loses all morals, history shows it will fail.
I don’t even donate to United WAY anymore bc of Marxist & Communist Ideology like DEI, ESG, Trans insanity. We were all witnesses to the lies of the CDC, FDA, BIG PHARMA. Rather than Dr Mengele, we had Dr Fauci, who became the Face of Evil, during the Plandemic. We were their guinea pigs. People, even medically trained professionals bought into the BS he was spewing. Of course, now we know it was all about making money, the root of all evil. The problem is No one is held to account for all the damage done to human beings esp the elderly & children. Unfortunately, they gave away their power when they were convinced by the “Progressive “Phil Bredesen to impose mandatory term limits on our elected Metro Council Members (the People’s Voice). Now they are lame ducks when they get elected. The Power shifted to Bredesen. He did a lot of financial damage to the Nashville tax base, when he issued an EO allowing Metro employees to live outside Davidson County. Now they get a salary, healthcare & a pension compliments of NashvilleTaxpayers, but they don’t contribute a dime. They also cannot vote for the Mayor or Metro Council. I always wondered if that was legal, bc it was part of the Metro Charter that employees must live in Davidson County. Then came Bill Purcell, Karl Dean, Megan Barry, John Cooper & now Freddie Conner (all Leftist Progressives) to continue the systematic destruction of our “trusted institutions”. I point this out bc the Left has targeted Nashville for a long time.

Release the Manifesto, multiple journals, computers, & treatment professionals shecwas associated with. They knew she was suicidal. Did she kill fir the cause? How come no one noticed she was acquiring an arsenal of weapons? Who was ” helping” her? The FBI? The Trans
Community. Someone was coaching her. They did not tell her the truth. You cannot change your sex anymore than you can change your skin color or age. Young vulnerable people are being lied to & given dilusional promises of ecstacy & power they will never attain without God in their life. Our young people need truth & trust.
They’ve validated the contents with their vindictive call to use state and federal help to retaliate against whoever released them.
The federal government (DOJ, FBI) leak documents all the time to the lame stream media when it suits their agenda, but as soon as a document that that goes against the governments expected narrative is leaked…..OMG look out, its the crime of the century. Regardless of your personal feelings these writings must legally be published.
The event was clearly traumatic for the victim’s families. I fail to see how this adds to the trauma, other than the delayed release causing them to revisit the memories (something that will continue to occur over time regardless).
The complete writings should be released, in the public interest.
God I hate living in Davidson County. Next to Shelby it’s the worst county of the state.
